If it seems as if Geoff Peters has been around forever, it is probably because he has. Geoff first appeared on the local music scene in 1965 with his first band 'the Brothers Blue', and they soon secured a monthly residency at the old Pomme D'or Club in Southsea and this ran for 2 years. In 1967 the band broke up and by that time disco's were becoming popular, so Geoff turned to the turntables, securing residencies at The Vernon Club and The Casbah in The Tricorn. At about this time he was offered a job on the pirate station Radio London, only for the station to be shut down by The Marine Offences Act just one week after receiving the offer.
Geoff returned to live music in 1974 and for the next 20 years played with various bands, including Bad Kind, Sylvesta,The Gatt Band, Orion, and Checkers. He still performs with Checkers today.
In 1996 he finally got into radio by joining the reformed Radio Victory, where he presented the breakfast show for 4 years. In the early 2000's Geoff joined Angel Radio in Havant, where he first met Martin Kirby. Geoff has also presented shows on Palm Fm in Torquay, Isle Of Wight Radio, and can now be heard on Sunday evenings between 8 and 10pm on Express Fm in Portsmouth.
In 2012 he was tracked down by Martin Kirby and asked to present shows for The Flash. Geoff's debut on South Hampshire's home of Classic rock, blues and the best local bands came in June 2013 during our first Fm broadcast to The Portsmouth area. He really enjoyed having the chance to feature some of his favourite classic rock tracks and looks forward to returning again for more in the near future.
