Richard's love for good music was ignited in 1964 when he first heard Radio Caroline, and he has been a lifetime fan of offshore pirate radio ever since. Like the station founder Martin Kirby, he has himself dabbled in pirate radio and as a result has built up an extensive record library over the years. In fact his home could be regarded as an Aladin's Cave for any rock or blues enthusiast.
Richard first met Martin Kirby in 1988 when Martin asked him to join his shortwave pirate radio station, which you could say was a fore runner to The Flash itself. And now 27 years later history has repeated itself and Richard can be heard on Sunday nights from 10.00pm.
