Richard Setford

Presenter

Richard is responsible for the whole IT aspect of running The Flash and has been instrumental in keeping The Flash broadcasting 24/7. He has also been instrumental in helping his fellow directors grow The Flash to where it is now.

He has been involved with live music since he joined his first band at college over twenty years ago. He then joined Stash, the well respected and very busy rock band you may remember from the mid nineties.

After Stash disbanded Richard joined Emmarald, the hugely popular function band, and enjoyed playing with them for nearly seven years at pretty much every conceivable venue and function.

Richard left Emmarald shortly before the birth of his second child and took a break from live music for a while. A chance phone call saw Richard reunited with Emmarald’s old bass player and The Valves were born playing Mod and Rock covers. The Valves went through a couple of line-up changes then disbanded but Richard and The Valves drummer and singer were keen to carry making live music.

Skip forward a couple of months and The Crush (www.the-crush.net) formed. That was early 2009 and since then The Crush, fronted by Richard on vocals and lead guitar, has become one of the most highly respected and sought after bands in the south of England. Playing covers and original material, Richard and The Crush have enjoyed countless gigs and even secured a high-profile slot at the 2012 Gosport Waterfront Festival.
