Mark Ringwood

Exiled Yorkshireman with a zest for life. He’s enjoyed over 40 years of experience in marketing and programming a wide range of the arts in venues of varying sizes from 40 – 1800 capacity, and arts festivals inc. Swansea, Greenwich, Reading, HI –There (Hayling Island), Rhythm Sticks (South Bank Centre) and WemsFest – the last 3 he founded. This was coupled with being a music agent promoter, and tour manager for countless artists which began with The Troggs in Poland and USSR, and Gordon Giltrap in 1975, and has taken him all over the world – he definitely has the t-shirt !

For 7 years he broadcast his own weekly show ‘Roots Around the World’ on Spirit FM which was a culmination, in a way, of an interest in radio which began at Thamesmead Insound and embraced at times Radio 210 (Reading), and BBC Radio Solent.

In 2012 he established the annual arts festival ‘WemsFest’ which serves the Westbourne-Emsworth area and led to Emsworth being the world’s first-ever Red Nose Town (raising £15,000 for Comic Relief).

Away from what no-one else would ever call work he enjoys a pint of Hophead, or Tipster, and walking his Korthals Griffon ‘Lumley’ with his partner Sam.
