Some men change the world. Others struggle to change the batteries in the studio clock. And then there’s Richie Liston. Born Richard Harris Liston, a man whose ego requires its own postcode, Richie is the self-proclaimed broadcasting genius behind The Richie Rich Show, hitting the airwaves every Saturday morning at 10 o’clock — usually before he’s fully understood what day it is.

Armed with a microphone, an alarming level of self-confidence and absolutely no evidence to support his own legend, Richie serves up music, mayhem and enough hot air to power a small village. He claims to have a special connection with his listeners, although most of them are simply trying to work out where the noise is coming from. His wife calls him a liability, his neighbours call him a nuisance, and his hairdresser calls him a work in progress. Yet somehow, against all known laws of broadcasting, he’s still on the radio!
Tune in every Saturday at 10am for The Richie Rich Show — the only show where the presenter thinks he’s a national treasure and the nation thinks he should be kept in a cupboard! Musically, anything goes on The Richie Rich Show, every genre is welcome. It can be 6 minutes or 600 years old but the majority of music played is from the mid 70s to the mid 80s.
