Ken has been involved with The Flash since 2021 and presents three separate hour-long shows across the week.
He has been interested in music since he was aged four in the very late 1950s starting with “Move It” by Cliff Richard and the Drifters (later The Shadows), that interest growing over the decades into a like for a wide-ranging style from opera to hard rock/heavy metal and all stops in between apart from drum and bass, and rap/hip hop, and a lot of modern pop.
The Collection on Thursday nights at 9.00pm is a reflection of that wide range, looking to play lesser known tracks by familiar artists but also lesser known artists, ranging from the early 1960s to now.
For Those About to Rock on Wednesday nights at 9.00pm is co-hosted with local historian Chris Pennycook, whose favourite bands include Iron Maiden, Sabaton and Deep Purple, and who is primarily a hard rock/heavy metal fan.

Chatterbox on Sunday afternoons at 4.00pm is where Ken has chats, rather than an interview, with local (and further afield) people of interest from any walk of life, the idea being to give the listener access to people they would not normally come across that easily. The conversations are woven around five songs of the interviewee’s choice and the reason for those choices.
Supporting all three programmes is Pete Drury, an up-and-coming sound engineer who helps Ken/Chris produce the best quality programmes they can.
